TOP NOTCH SPORTSMANSHIP & REGARD

Zach Williams is a 16U player on a team lead by Coach Kevin Lawrence. Zach has had the pleasure of wearing a Tripletown Aces jersey for four years. For the first two years, he contributed as a guest player. For the last two years,  he participated as a full-time member of the team.

“I believe that it is imperative to treat all teams with esteem. Baseball is a time-honored tradition and should be played with dignity and reverence. The field is a majestic place where anything is possible. I have learned to never expect certain outcomes based on a team’s previous record.”

He continues, “It is crucial that all players be extended the courtesy of top notch sportsmanship and regard. Baseball is an elite competition requiring great athleticism and elite mental strategy! Over the past nine years, I have seen so many young men give up on this spectacular adventure that we call baseball as the expectations and requirements of the game have proven to be too much of a challenge. I pray that my drive for baseball never wavers and the game challenges me for many more seasons!”

“I am so appreciative that my coach respects me enough to provide constructive criticism when I didn’t make the play in the manner in which I should have. I have full confidence that my coach has my best interests at heart and that I will continue to grow into an exceptional player.”

“My favorite part about my team is that we hold players accountable! I am grateful that my team is very encouraging and is able to pick me up after a poor at bat or an error on a play. The expectation is that I do the same for my fellow team members. I know, as a pitcher, that my teammates will perform to the best of their abilities to help me secure the win for the team. I don’t feel as though we have super egos on the team. We are all talented ball players and showcase our abilities each and every game. I appreciate that we know that it takes all of us to play a complete game!”

YOUNG MEN FIRST, BASEBALL PLAYERS SECOND

Coach Al Lipscomb coached a Tripletown Aces team for the past 3 years. Al is a seasoned veteran as he started coaching in his 20s for a local legion baseball team and has been playing or coaching baseball for over 40 years.

"One of my proudest coaching moments was when I was able to talk a kid out of quitting the game he loves. He is still playing today! One of the fundamentals I focus on is teaching athletes to always compete is more important to me than winning."

"The legacy I hope to leave as a coach, is that my players know that I cared for them most as young men and second as baseball players.”

PLAY HARD & HAVE FUN

Fulton Beard plays on the 11U team with Coach Ilgenfritz and is in his third year with the program.

"A rule Coach lives by is to play hard and have fun. If our fundamentals slip, Coach Ilgenfritz encourages us to make corrections. His goal is to help us get better."

"My teammates are incredibly nice and supportive. If someone strikes out, we will pick him up."

THERE ARE SO MANY THINGS I LOVE ABOUT THE ACES!

Lisa Woods' son began playing for the Aces in 2019 and currently plays on the 12U Lawrence Aces team. Lisa is also on our Board of Directors.

"There are so many things I love about the Aces. I love that our standards are higher than most, and that we expect something “more” from players and families. I love that we strive to use baseball as a platform to make our kids, siblings, and families better human beings. I love that being a part of the Aces has made me a better, more respectful baseball mom and sports fan. I love that every experience, every opportunity is about more than the game itself. I love that we find meaningful opportunities to give back to our community, and to ensure our children know how fortunate they are to have these experiences. I love the laughs, the heartbreaks, the larger-than-life moments our kids get to experience, the learning moments, the life lessons, the celebrations, and the disappointments. I love that we are different. I love that almost everything we do is bigger than baseball.

Most importantly, I love the Tripletown Aces baseball family that has blessed my family’s life. The kids on my son’s team have become like my own….I love them fiercely and will support them through all things in life. I love that my son has found life-long friends who can be his opponent one week and his tried-and-true teammate the next. I love the chemistry our kids have both on the field and off. I love the memories we make, being together at the ball field for hours on end (almost) every weekend, all Spring and Summer long. I love that I can count on any one of these moms, dads, teammates, or coaches to care for and love my child through his highs and his lows, or to be there for him or us at the drop of a hat. My baseball family has become some of my very best friends, my go-to people for all things in life.

There are so many things I love about the Aces!"

BIGGER THAN BASEBALL

A local East Prospect grandmother shared, "Friday evening my 10-year old grandson wanted to practice some baseball. When we got to the field, a team was gathering for their practice - Tripletown Aces 14U Perzanowski. They allowed my grandson to practice with them. They are just the sweetest young men. They included him like he was on the team. I wish they knew what kind of impact they made on him that night - he had the biggest smile I've ever seen. I can never thank them enough. Thank you a million, and wishing you the best season ever. Parents - you have amazing young men. Thank you."

Bigger than baseball. This is what the Tripletown Aces are all about.
